Saturday was a busy day for me and I didn’t even get to go have bfast and pass out VBS fliers this morning. I got to move furniture with B.rad in the morning and J.red in the afternoon. We busted our humps moving stuff upstairs to the conference room, and almost died due to the tremendous weight of it all. (not really, but it was truly some heavy junk)
Then the kids and I came home for the afternoon while Kym was still running around town doing who knows what. Mike & Kylee got to watch some Disney Channel while Dad just slept on the couch. I cannot remember getting a nice long nap like that. It was PHENOMENAL to say the least. I felt like M.Stanley and H.Beth.
When the wife finally came home, we had some delicious sandwiches and I ran to Bock Bock for some sweet tea for me and the Hot Momma. Boy that tea really hit the spot for sure.
Then, we did what we do many night– watched the Disney Channel 7 o’clock movie. It was the very first showing of “Go Figure” about some girly who is a figure skater, but goes to a school on a hockey scholarship. It turned out to be kinda cool. Of course the kids loved it!
Now it is just time for some last minute work before bed time. BE PRAYIN’ FOR VBS– begins tomorrow night.
AND Camp Deposits are seriously due like NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
VERSE of the DAY: Psalm 101:3 “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes…”
Is that a prayer of your heart in your life today? To you desire to be pure before God and to not put ungodly, wicked things before your eyes and in your mind? I know the Bible doesn’t come right out and say anything specific about all the different kinds of media we have today. BUT, isn’t it enough that God tells us the wicked, sinful things of the world have no place within the lives of his children? How can we sit through movie after movie that depicts the very things God says he hates in the Bible? The things being joked about and laughed at are listed as wicked and sinful in God’s Word.
At the name of entertainment we can be so quick to just ignore the Word of God. God does talk about us having leisure time and resting, but he does not say anything about us making sure we are a people who get plenty of entertainment. It is a disturbing trend to say the least that God’s people (even his faithful servants) have no problem seeing the same trash that the world does. The very same thing goes for television, internet and music. GUARD Your Heart!! Just like Pastor Mills has been preaching for the last few weeks.
Proverbs 4:20-27 “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. 25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. 26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. 27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.”
I bestow upon you all the strength and greatness of EL GATO de BLANCO!
