It is a beautiful Saturday morning and I just have to comment on the Phenomenal Phriday I just had. It began at 4:45am as I awoke to head to the golf course with my good friend, Darin Felty. We met Pastor Mills at Waterview Golf Course in Rowlett for our 6:22 tee time. It was just absolutely a perfect day for golf. I played ok, but not terrific. Pastor shot one of his best scores ever, and Darin made us both sick by scoring a 72 (even par).
As if that wasn’t enough of a blessing, Xtreme V-ball topped it off big time. It was great fun as a total of 12 peeps showed up to be gamers. We didn’t let the sun and the heat beat us down. We just enjoyed every minute of it. There was some awesome v-ball exhibited, and there was some other stuff going on also, that wouldn’t necessarily be called “awesome v-ball”. However, fun was had by all. L.Stanley brought water for everyone which made for great break times. Also, I drilled L.Stanley right in the face with a nerf football. TRUE, I was trying to throw the ball at her and hit her, but I was quite a ways from her and never imagined I’d nail her right in the face. I think she thought I had knocked a couple teeth loose, but there was no permanent damage. Plus, she attacked me like the crazy ManBeasT she is and so I let het tackle me to the ground so she would let go. If I didn’t let her, then she’d probably still have a hold on my ankles at this very moment. On top of that, Lisha (a.k.a.- Sickee) was spitting all kinds of sickness into the sand and covering it up like a cat. It was extremely nasty, but we all know how it is to be sick. Anyway, needless to say, it was an amazing couple of hours in the sun.
Afterwards, I called B.rad Rowan and stopped by his house to hop in the pool and cool off. That nice cool water really hit the spot. I topped off the night by hangin’ with Keith Mills’ bachelor party for a bit at SpeedZone. It was cool, but I didn’t feel well, so I took off early.
SO, What’s on the Agenda for TODAY?!?!?!?!? First, I had to pick up the new bar-b-q grill from Home Depot and deliver Pastor Mills’ old cell phone to Allison since she dropped hers in the toilet. That is hilarious. Next (and for most of the day) is HOUSE and YARD work so everything is Phenomenal (learn this spelling) when Kym and the Kiddos return on Sunday. Pray for them as they travel tomorrow. I think they’re going to church with her parents first and then leaving for Mesquite. Maybe she’ll make it home in time for a nice after-church meal at WhatABurger. “That sounds good. I’ll have that.”
VERSE of the DAY: Genesis 3:19 “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” THIS verse means that we are to be a people who work. Everything in life comes with a cost, and we have to be willing to WORK. I thought it appropriate seeing as I’m sweating like a fat pig today as I work around here. Souns like it might be a perfect time for a drink to be brought to me by one of the wonderful teenagers we have at Berean, kinda like M.Stanley did one night totally on her own. HA HA, just kidding.
Know this and hear me when I say: “EL GATO & LA CERA (both of which I saw yesterday) bring to you their sincere desires to see your life blessed and prosperous. Don’t underestimate the greatness and power of these 2 vehicles and the 2 “AMAZING” drivers. May we all benefit from their True Greatness”
