How can one day be so good and so bad at the same time? Phenomenal how the day has gone and will go tonight. First there was a wonderful visit with a man in our church who is in the hospital. Most times, we go to the hospital to cheer up and encourage the patients, but Andy was a blessing to me. He really appreciated the visit, but I so did as well. Then, I got a personal invite to have a bite of lunch with some Berean peeps at the street of the burger and even ended up parking my truck right next to LA CERA. Imagine that good fortune.
Top that off with the whole church staff getting to go to the Mesquite Rodeo tonight. We have the use of the Gateway National Bank private suite. It comes stocked with snacks and drinks plus a catered bar-b-q dinner before the rodeo. AND, it’s nice and cool with no smell of manure. So, doesn’t all that just sound amazingly awesome and all? OF Course it does.
BUT. I have to miss a double-header at softball tonight. R U kidding me? Double-Headers are what it’s all about. I mean 2 games in the same night. It just doesn’t get any better than that. AND I have to miss them for the rodeo. I know it sounds too harsh to be true, but there is one saving grace to this whole thing. Afterwards, we’ll be meeting the Morris family and Mike & Kylee at WHataBurGer. EVERYone is invited. Kym and I should make it there by 10:30 for sure. All you who think that’s like way late– get a life. If us old folks can handle it, then so can you.
That’s all except that my new Xanga Goal in life is to leave as many comments as possible to help everybody feel good. Cuz, you know you get that little happy feeling when you see 12, 18, or 26 EPROPS and comments at the bottom of your last update.
VERSE of the DAY: Galatians 6:2 “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”………………Life sure can get heavy in this world in which we live. God not only is always there for us, but also gives us each other for help. I’m not supposed to let my brother or sister in Christ carry their own burden. If I can help and be a blessing, it is my responsibility to do so. AND, it should be my joy and honor to be able to help; not a beat down. “You just call out my name, and you know wherever I am. I’ll come running (oh yes I will) to see you again. Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall…..all you got to do is call, and I’ll be there, oh be there. You’ve got a friend.” I thought a little James Taylor was appropriate at this moment.
Fridays are perfect days to look back and reflect over the previous week and remember with fondness all the times EL GATO & LA CERA have crossed your path. I can remember the exact time of day and location each and every time they passed by. A single tear falls from my eye as I recollect with joy the many times this past week. Remembering those times only makes me want to experience it again and again.
